Bougarabou: buying drum from Africa (African drum)

Bougarabou

The bougarabou is a Jola drum originally from Casamance, a region located in southern Senegal, and from Gambia. It produces a sound similar to that of the conga and accompanies the traditional dances of the Diola tribe. Influenced by congueros, drummers play it today in sets of drums of differing sizes. Our bougarabous are created by Ghanain and Malian craftmen using traditional materials and skills.
