Bougarabou: buying drum from Africa (African drum)
[03/27/2020] We rigorously follow all the precautions necessary to protect our team and our customers against the spread of coronavirus. The same applies to the carrier who delivers your packages. The collection and distribution of parcels is however reduced to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, so delivery times may be longer. Thank you for your understanding.
The bougarabou is a Jola drum originally from Casamance, a region located in southern Senegal, and from Gambia. It produces a sound similar to that of the conga and accompanies the traditional dances of the Diola tribe. Influenced by congueros, drummers play it today in sets of drums of differing sizes. Our bougarabous are created by Ghanain and Malian craftmen using traditional materials and skills.
