Small bendré baradunun drum

The small bendré or baradunun drum is called bara den.

The tuning of the bendré is adjusted with the tension of the vertical strings and the size of the black pad placed in the centre of the skin.

A lower note is obtained with a larger pad.

The bendré is usually played in pairs (small and big). In Burkina Faso, it often accompanies the Bobo and Senufo pentatonic balafons.
