Thick shaved goat cut skin for djembe drum - Djembe skin
We suggest a thick goat skin for reskinning a djembe or a drum whose strike diameter is more than 34 cm.
This type of replacement skin for djembe or drum head is particularly suitable for percussionists seeking round tonic sounds and sharper slapping sounds.
Pour préserver leur qualité d’origine, nos peaux sont directement sélectionnées, traitées puis rasées dans les abattoirs avant d’être séchées. Cette technique permet d’éviter un trempage supplémentaire avant rasage qui nuirait à leurs propriétés.
En contre-partie d’une « fraîcheur » assurée, un petit nettoyage de votre peau est conseillé lors du trempage avant montage et permet d’éliminer d’éventuels aspects gênants tels que :
– odeur animale désagréable : changez l’eau de trempage plusieurs fois, ajoutez éventuellement un peu d’eau de javel parfumée
– déformation : votre peau reprendra sa forme initiale lors du trempage (séchée au sol, il est possible qu’elle ait épousé la forme d’un caillou ou d’un corps solide qui s’y trouvait)
– trace de peinture : effacez la après montage de la peau sur votre instrument avec du papier de verre ou une lame de rasoir (il s’agit d’un résidu de traces de marquage utilisées par les éleveurs pour reconnaître leurs animaux)
