Traditional kenkeni dunun - Melina Guinea dunun drum

In the dunun drums family, the kenkeni plays at the highest pitch and is generally used as a metronome in simple rhythms.

Each Guinea kenkeni is conceived in the purest tradition of the Guinean craftsmen who combine expertise and traditional skills.

Melina (white wood, bumu) is a slightly less dense wood than those traditionally used in the fabrication of djembes from Mali while offering the same acoustic quality.

It is preferred by djembefolas who prioritize weight over sturdiness, appreciated by those who play standing up or who have to transport their instrument.
